History
We are 115 years young - partly thanks to our updated hotel concept and interiors. While we have moved on with the times, we have also stayed true to our original values of Swiss hospitality, generous service and the pioneering attitude that helped us establish our hotel originally in the times of the Golden Age of alpinism and the Belle Époque. Interested to know more about our history but don't have much time before your next adventure? In 1907, we opened our doors as Brits and other global travellers began flocking to the Alps for the summer. By 1928, the trains began operating in winter and it soon became the main season. Then came renovations, expansions and the signature Tower Spa Suite. And then, in 2021 we initiated our new hotel concept with new interiors…and the rest of our history is being written as you read!
Now for the second Golden Age of alpinism!
Our vision is to inspire a new era of alpinism and we’ve only just started on this journey. First came our new interiors, then came our updated Spa & Recharge Zone and soon…no, we won’t tell you everything because it will spoil the surprises. But stay tuned as the Alps are becoming increasingly popular and we’re pioneering the movement!
